National/Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (N/CVQs)

National/Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (N/CVQs) are work-based qualifications that assess someone’s competence (i.e. the skills, knowledge and understanding they have) in a work situation and certify that the individual can perform the work role to the standards expected in employment. NVQs tell you exactly what someone who is competent in an occupation can do. This means that anyone who has an N/CVQ for their occupation is competent and has a way to prove it.

N/CVQs are, therefore, are a key competent of Competency-Based Training.
