It is critical that national events be provided with high quality sound engineering and that this sound is delivered at international standards. In Barbados, the lack of skilled and qualified Sound Engineers continued to be a challenge facing the music industry.
A & B Music Supplies and the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI) partnered to train and certify 30 Barbadians in the Level 3 Caribbean Vocational Qualification in Live Sound Engineering. This course provides students with a range of hands-on skills, to operate, manage and deliver a professional live music event.
